  • What if you fell and injured your self and were unable to go to work on Monday? How generous would your employer be or, worse still, who would do your work if you are self employed?

Income Protection Insurance Best Quote

Income Protection insurance bestquote will pay you a benefit in the event of you being unable to work due to accident or sickness. Premiums are calculated on the benefit required (you can normally specify up to 50% of your gross salary). When calculating the benefit, you need to consider your outgoings. You also need to decide how long you could wait before the policy benefit is paid out i.e. 4/8/13 weeks, and also to what age the benefit would be paid if you were permanently incapacitated. Short term income protection insurance is also available that pays out much quicker but will only last for 2 years.

Similar in many ways to Mortgage Protection, this is a more flexible cover that can be used for any number of purposes. The main differences between the two types of policy are outlined below :-
Mortgage protection insurance benefits are paid directly to the lender i.e. the building society or bank that granted the mortgage, whereas payment protection insurance benefits are payable directly to you.

Since October 1995 new mortgage borrowers will receive no state help for the first nine months of unemployment or disability. Existing mortgage borrowers receive nothing for the first two months, only 50% for the next four months and then full benefit for mortgages of up to £100,000 provided they qualify for Income Support. The Government themselves estimate that 70% of mortgage borrowers will not get Support due to savings, income, or a working spouse or partner.
